Daybed

The DAYBED is a low-profile lounge furniture piece constructed entirely from solid teak wood. Measuring 180.00 cm in width, 120.00 cm in depth, and 55.00 cm in height, this rectangular platform provides a spacious surface area designed for reclining, sitting, or resting. With a total weight of 74.00 kg and a volumetric measurement of 0.9700 cubic meters, the heavy build reflects the dense and substantial nature of the timber utilized in its construction. Teak wood forms the exclusive material composition for both the structural frame and the visible slats, offering natural resistance to moisture, decay, and environmental degradation due to the high concentration of natural oils present in the hardwood.

The structural design centers around a low-set rectangular base supported by sturdy, integrated legs that distribute the 74.00 kg weight evenly across the floor. The height of 55.00 cm includes the thickness of the base frame, positioning the resting surface at a convenient level relative to standard floor seating arrangements. The 180.00 cm width combined with the 120.00 cm depth creates a surface area that accommodates a full-length user lying down or multiple individuals sitting simultaneously. The upper platform consists of closely aligned teak slats, which allow air circulation beneath any added cushions or mattresses while maintaining a rigid, supportive foundation.

Teak wood exhibits a golden-brown hue initially, which gradually weathers to a silvery-gray patina when exposed to outdoor elements over extended periods. The grain structure is straight and tight, contributing to the structural integrity and high load-bearing capacity of the furniture. Traditional joinery techniques are applied to connect the side rails, legs, and slats, minimizing the reliance on visible metal hardware and ensuring that the joints remain stable under regular physical loads. The surfaces are sanded smooth to the touch, highlighting the natural patterns of the wood without the application of heavy synthetic coatings or opaque paints.

Intended for both indoor living areas and covered outdoor environments such as patios, verandas, or pool decks, the DAYBED adapts to various spatial layouts owing to its neutral wooden materiality and clean geometric lines. The 120.00 cm depth requires adequate floor clearance, making it suitable for larger rooms, open-plan spaces, or expansive architectural settings. Maintenance involves occasional cleaning with a soft brush and mild soapy water to remove surface dust and debris. Periodic application of teak oil or specific wood sealers can preserve the original honey-brown color tone, whereas leaving the wood untreated allows for the natural weathering process to occur without compromising the structural durability of the teak material.
