Bed Johan

The Bed Johan measures 160.00 cm in width and 200.00 cm in depth, providing standard Queen-sized dimensions for mattress placement. Constructed entirely from solid teak wood, the frame utilizes a hardwood known for its high natural oil content and dense grain structure. This specific material choice gives the furniture inherent resistance to moisture, decay, and warping, ensuring long-term structural stability under daily weight loads.

The headboard and footboard feature a clean, rectilinear profile with exposed mortise and tenon joinery, highlighting the physical assembly methods used to connect the structural members. Teak slats form the internal mattress support system, spaced at regular intervals to distribute weight evenly across the entire surface area of the bed base. The wood surfaces undergo a fine-sanding process to achieve a smooth tactile finish while retaining the natural color variations and grain patterns characteristic of mature teak timber.

Four sturdy corner posts anchor the frame, providing vertical support and maintaining a fixed clearance between the floor and the underside of the bed. The assembly relies on heavy-duty metal hardware concealed within the internal joints, preventing visible fasteners on the exterior surfaces of the frame. This mechanical connection allows the bed to be disassembled and reassembled during relocation without compromising the integrity of the wood screw-holes.

Maintenance of the Bed Johan requires minimal intervention due to the natural properties of the teak material. Periodic dusting with a dry cloth removes surface particles, while occasional application of teak oil can preserve the original golden-brown tone of the wood if exposure to direct sunlight causes oxidation over time. The solid construction weighs significantly, requiring two people for safe transport and assembly within a bedroom space. The dimensions accommodate standard 160 by 200 cm mattresses without overhang or excessive gaps along the perimeter of the frame rails.
